Minutes of the November 28, 2017 meeting
The November meeting of the Tulsa Glue Dobbers was called to order by President Mike Pennell at 7:00 pm, Twenty one members were present. The minutes of the October meeting were read and approved.
New member Eric Moss was recognized and welcomed.
President Pennell reported that current membership stands at 124 and that the club has $6,980 and change in the bank. That is after paying $1000 for brush clearing the past weekend. President Pennell suggested that after the first of the new year that we consider doing more brush and tree clearing on the south end.
At the October meeting it was suggested that we look into getting a handicap Port-A-Potty. We currently pay $720 per year. The handicap unit would cost $2040 per year. It was agreed that we would not move to a handicap unit.
We received a request from the girls softball organization that sponsors tournaments at the ball fields to our north during the summer. They requested that we put on a flight demonstration during the week of July 23-29. President Pennell asked them to contact us again the first of July and advised that we very likely would be able to do so with the smaller electric airplanes. The membership agreed that doing so would be a good PR opportunity for TGD.
President Pennell gave a brief review of an earlier proposal for adding a sun shelter and electricity on the pad north of the spectator seating. It was agreed that a more thorough presentation be made at the January meeting.
A discussion relating to a shortage of battery charging space in the center shelter ensued. Several unknowns were brought up relating
to the total load capabilities of the present electrical system. Mike and Bob Passmore will meet at the first opportunity to take measurements, calculate load requirements, etc. so that we can make informed decisions as to possible solutions to the problem.
